• I like the headcanon that the Doll is either a great one or a puppet of one. Whether she’s “good or evil” is up for debate (good and evil is all up for debate in the game, honestly). I’d love to see this concept explored more. Does the doll really love the Hunter? I like to think yes, but I could be wrong. What’s her goal? Is she looking for a child in all the hunters that go through the dream?

• What about the true ending, where the Hunter becomes an infant great one? Do they still have thoughts like a human, or something more? Is the mental transition slow? Do they manage to keep their human feelings? They say some great ones can be sympathetic to humans, so does the Hunter become one of the sympathetic ones?

• What if Eileen survives to the end of the game? Does she try to kill god!Hunter? Can the Hunter communicate with her? What does she think of this transition?

• Does the dream continue when the Hunter assumes Moon Presence’s place? Does it turn into something else? If the Doll is another great one, maybe she’s the one controlling the dream? And if she isn’t, is the Hunter able to bring her to the waking world?

• Fake Iosefka’s pov or Yurie’s pov. What were they thinking while killing and raiding the places they’re at? How far off the deep end has F!Iosefka actually gone? What was Yurie doing in Birgenwerth?

• Caryll runes! How exactly are they etched into the mind? Cause, y'know... if you look at the rune tool, it looks like a brand? Huh 👀. Also, I headcanon Caryll as a woman because they never specify the gender, but you can give them whatever gender you want. How do you think Caryll was able to hear the Great Ones? And not only hear them without going completely mad, but also being able to translate their words into something understandable to humans. Caryll must have been impressive, indeed.

Final Fantasy XII

It's been years since I've played it, but it's the only Final Fantasy I've finished and it has a special place in my heart. I remember being taken in by the soundtrack, and how the art direction gives that classical fantasy vibe, even with the sci-fi elements.

The angst of Noah thinking he's not good enough for a prince, the angst of Larsa knowing that pursuing a relationship might put into jeopardy his monarchy (and still choosing Noah anyway), the angst of Noah being someone who chose to do bad things and how both he and Larsa reconcile with that.

• Balthier and Vaan was probably my first FFXII ship, and I honestly don't know what to say beyond "make them kiss!!" xD (okay, but their vibe as experienced thief and unexperienced street rat is amazing)

• Fran and Penelo would be so sweet together. I like Fran's no nonsense attitude, and how she gives off big sister vibes. How does Penelo deal with the fact that her crush/lover is much older and more experienced in life than her? Does she feel insecure? Maybe she doesn't pursue Fran because what the hell would Fran want with her, right??? Some mutual pining where they're both into each other but uncertain of a relationship would be very nice.

Hades

I’ve been a fan of Supergiant’s games since Bastion, and it’s so satisfying to see all their experience and experiments with their other games come together in such a beautiful package. Hades is not a game I thought I was going to like (because rogue-likes), but the characters and the storytelling kept me going (and also, turns out the gameplay can be loads of fun).

• What if Zagreus finds a way to leave permanently? What happens to him? What happens to his relationships? Does the person he loves go after him? Does he even know how much he’s loved??? (oh, the hurt/comfort potential)

• What if Chaos has a hand on how Zagreus gets out?

• What if Zag falls into the void inside Chaos’ domain? Would it corrupt him? Destroy him? Give him unimaginable powers? Chaos helping him navigate his newfound state of being would be very interesting.

• How do the Olympians react when Hermes and Zagreus get together? Does anyone know? Do they choose to keep it a secret? Maybe Hermes wants to keep it on the low because his family is not the best, let’s be honest, but Zagreus misinterprets it as Hermes being ashamed of him.

• Hypnos looks like he might be really insecure in a relationship with Zagreus, maybe thinking that Zagreus is too good for him. Would be interesting to see those feelings explored.

• Have you ever seen that headcanon where Hypnos’ true form is similar to a biblical angel, and he’s super powerful? What if for some reason, Zagreus gets to take a peek at that form? How would it change their relationship?

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

This game made me cry. A lot. I had to stop for a while because I was crying too much to play. I don’t have schizophrenia (which is the disorder that Senua seems to have), but it’s still so good and comforting to feel seen, when the rest of the world seems to think less of you for something that’s not your fault.

• I love Senua, her strength and her struggles, and the way she realizes she’s letting her grief destroy her, and how she pulls through at the end. Even thinking about it makes me teary eyed. Exploring her feelings/thoughts throughout the game could be interesting, or even pre-canon, when she goes back home and finds her village destroyed and her lover dead.

• Isn’t it amazing, that even though the voices oscillate between love and hate for Senua, they all agree that Dillion loves her? Never, for one moment, do they doubt his love for her.

• What if the events of the game were literal? There’s a fine line between reality and illusion in the game, and even though the story seems fairly straight forward at the end, I still think there’s a margin for interpretation that was deliberately left there.

• Druth is such an interesting character. A scholar made slave, forced to help his captors, and still, he’s not exactly blameless for all the pain that he indirectly (or directly) caused. I wonder how he dealt with all of that, mentally.

• I love Druth and Senua’s friendship. I love men and women being genuine friends, without an ounce of attraction between them. Would be nice to see how they met, how they became friends, how they each reacted to the other’s darkness.

• If you want to speculate where the game goes from here (since all we have for part 2 is a vague trailer), go for it!

• Alpha Warlord/Pregnant Omega: Who's the other biological parent? Did they die in the war? How does the Omega deal with being with the enemy? Did he choose it for himself as a way of escaping an abusive life? Or is he a peace offering from the king of the conquered kingdom? Or was he kidnapped and they ended up catching feelings??? Maybe the Alpha kidnapped him in hopes that he could use the situation to force the end of the war, but the Omega's father or mother don't care about their son. Maybe the Omega is very far down the line for the throne, just one more disposable prince to be used as a chess piece.

• Human/Ancient Evil: How did the Human manage to actually unleash the Evil? Ancient artifact being broken? Performing a ritual without realizing? Reading a spell as a joke and oops, it actually works? Would love to see the Evil trying to court this very mundane and non-powered Human, and the Human being all flustered about it, and maybe a little conflicted? The Evil is evil after all xD

• Bookish Gentleman/Outgoing Friend: Mutual pining, yes or yes? Gentleman probably thinks he's too boring/plain/low status to actually gain the Friend's attention. How would they get together? Does Friend ask Gentleman's hand in marriage through his parents? Does he write a letter as a secret admirer?

• Deity/Priest: How did the Deity get stuck in human form? A curse? Or is it something that they can do at will but something went wrong? Does the priest know who he is?

• Mod/Pinch Hitter: This prompt makes me giggle xD Why is the Mod so desperate to find the PHer? Is it one of those exchanges with very high minimums? What kind of underworld does the PHer go to? How does the Mod find them? Spell? Pet hellhounds zeroing in on the PHer's smell? Maybe the Mod is non-human and they're ready to fight whoever thinks they can keep their PHer.

→ Desperate Supervillain/Superhero: What could possibly be endangering the Villain's life? Another, bigger, badder villain? A curse? Spell gone wrong? Powers going haywire and no one knows why? Powers going haywire because Hero is Villain's soulmate and Villain keeps denying it to himself, internalizing his feelings?

→ Exasperated King/Kidnapped Princess: Why does the Princess like this kingdom much better than her home? Was she abused? Neglected? Used as a pawn in political games? What happens when the King realizes he has no leverage because she's very happy here, thank you very much? Maybe he threatens to send her back? xD

→ Exiled Prince/Coup Leader's Son: Falling in love with someone you shouldn't, ah yeah, the hurt/comfort potential here is real. Why is the Prince exiled? Did he oppose his parents? Maybe he won't be so sad to know the kingdom has fallen in hopefully better hands. Bonus point for pining and temporary angst when the Prince discovers the Son was sent as a spy.

→ Secret Prince/Bodyguard: Why is it a secret? Does the Prince know he's a prince at all? Is he being protected from something/someone? Is he being kept out of the way so someone else can take the throne? Does the bodyguard know he's guarding a prince, or does he think he guy is just a noble? Who's paying the bodyguard?

→ Imperial Minister/Musician: The hurt/comfort. The "he's too good for me" angst. The way society reacts to the relationship. Maybe they run away to be together? Maybe the Minister marries the Musician against all odds and amidst protests? Are they in a wuxia setting, and the Musician uses music cultivation to protect the Minister? (hi Leaf >:3c )

→ Lonely Prince/Assassin: Why is the Prince lonely? Maybe he's one of the neglected heirs, only there to be used as a political bargain chip. Why would the Assassin be sent to kill this prince, specifically? Is he special in some way?

→ Magic Wielder/Warrior: Does the bond happen with consent from both parties? Does it happen by accident? Is it state-mandated and perhaps they hate each other? Bonus points for mutual pining and power sharing.

→ Male rebel/Spare heir: Hmm, spare heir neglected by the king/queen, maybe hungry for some revenge, and a dashing rebel ready to take advantage of those feelings... and then catching feelings of his own?

→ Prince Imprisoned/Burglar: Why is the Prince imprisoned? How does the Burglar react to finding a stray prince? Do they hit it off instantly? Does the Burglar get angry when he realizes that the Prince is in the tower against his will?

→ Prophesied Hero/God of Fate: Love me some chosen one who doesn't like/believe he's the chosen one. How frustrated does the God get? Does he pretend to be human to try and convince the Hero to do their job? Or does he show up as the God of Fate, no disguises, and suddenly the Hero's questioning their world view?

• How were the places built? Who built them, and for what?

• How much are the guardians aware of the passage of time? Maybe some of them believe whatever it is they’re waiting for will never come.

• What if whatever they’re waiting for does come, though? What happens then?

• What about people who stumble upon the places without knowing what they are? Are the guardians friendly? Do they nudge boats back the way they came? Or maybe they destroy everything and everyone that gets close enough.

• The guardians are all water creatures, but what about the dry land part? Who protects that? Maybe the guardians have little minions to patrol their place, or maybe they can split themselves into smaller pieces. Or maybe the guardians themselves can come out of the water and roam.

• I’ll also be interested in reading the pov of someone who stumbles upon one of these places. What do they find? Do they stumble upon books or scrolls? Do they have any idea that they’re stepping into sacred land? Do they interact with the guardians at all?
